From Branxholme-Makarewa Road, turn west onto Turkey Bush Road, travel down it past the water treatment plant and over the railway line. At the end of the road you will see a car parking area near a railway bridge. From here, there is good access both up and downstream. There is a foot bridge alongside the railway bridge and with extreme caution, you can walk across the rail bridge to access the other bank.
