There is a 4WD track along the eastern side of North Mavora Lake that provides vehicle access to the upper Mararoa River and the Winton Burn. There is a locked gate at the start of this track and you need to contact the Invercargill Department of Conservation office for an access key. Please drive considerately as wilful 4WD damage may result in further limitations to access.
