Explore the area
Explore the track route and surrounding area before you set out.
Follow the steps down to a well-formed track through a pocket of coastal forest, where you’ll see tree ferns, nīkau palms, kawakawa and kōwhai. The track leads to further steps that descend to Ngarunui Beach. From here, you can walk along the seashore to Wainui Reserve. Toilets are available at both Wainui Reserve and Manu Bay. Ngarunui Beach, also known as Wainui Beach or Ocean Beach, is the main beach in Raglan for swimming, surfing and picnicking. A surf patrol operates about 200 m from the track entrance to the beach. Use this location on Google Maps to help find your way there. An alternative access is via 50 steps from Earles Place, though parking there is limited.
No dogs.
