This is a Great Walk campsite in the Whanganui area. This is one of four road access points to the Whanganui Journey. Look and listen for kererū, tūi and fantail. Brown kiwi can often be heard at night.

Whanganui Journey huts and campsites closures 5-19 January

The annual iwi river journey, Tira Hoe Waka, will take place on the Whanganui River from 5 to 19 January 2027. Slip near entry into Ohinepane campsite
