Managed by Greater Wellington, this track takes you to the historic Korokoro Dam, through regenerating and mature native bush. Start the track at the Oakleigh Street entrance to the park, at the track nearest the information kiosk. The loop takes one hour to complete. It is an e asy walk down to dam and steady climb back up through lovely native bush. Lots of bird life to hear and see - tui, piwakawaka , kereru are plentiful. Be impressed with the amount of and size of nikau that can be viewed . The loop takes one hour to complete. Dogs are allowed but on-lead only.
The track begins at the Oakleigh Street entrance to the park, near the information kiosk. This one-hour loop can be walked in either direction. It features an easy descent to the dam, followed by a steady climb back up through beautiful native bush. Along the way, you’ll be surrounded by abundant birdlife, including tūī, pīwakawaka, and kererū. The track is also lined with impressive nīkau palms, adding to the lush atmosphere. The well-maintained, wide track is in excellent condition, making for an enjoyable walk. Dogs are permitted but must be kept on a lead at all times.
