Oteake Conservation Park
This tramping track features a historic goldfield, remnant tōtara and a scenic waterfall. It is a challenging but rewarding day tramp.

Explore the track route and surrounding area before you set out.
From the car park on Mount Buster Road, follow the flats to the start of the gorge and marked track. The route follows Little Kye Burn before climbing steeply to Buster Hut , where the track ends.
Oteake is subject to flooding, snowfall and weather extremes. In winter this area is blanketed with snow, extremely cold and exposed. Thick scrub along the way can make navigation difficult. Allow extra time and carry navigation aids. This track is best suited to experienced, fit trampers. This track is not suitable for mountain biking. No dogs. Oteake Conservation Park has avalanche terrain.
The tramp starts on Mount Buster Road, near Naseby. From the car park, tramp to the start of the gorge and marked trail. Use this location in Google Maps to help find your way there.
