Track Description Enjoy this short walk through regenerating native bush. A group of volunteers is restoring the track to native forest. They have put up interpretation panels along the way, as well as wētā hotels and sound boxes that play bird calls. At night, glow worms can be found on this track, but if you’re going after dark, please take a good head torch and an alternative light source. This is important in case your first one fails. The well-maintained gravel track is suitable for prams and all fitness types. The bush provides shelter from the weather, but you will want to take insect repellent, especially in the summer and autumn. Take antihistamine if you are allergic to wasp stings. Toilets are located at the adjacent campground. Getting There Access to this track is from the Momorangi campground, off Queen Charlotte Drive. Use this location in Google Maps to find your way there. You can park on the main road or access the track by boat from Momorangi Bay. Water taxi services to Momorangi Bay are available from Picton and Havelock. Helpful resources Find tips, guides and how-to videos to help you prepare for your walk at mountainsafety.org.nz
