Follow Trotters Creek through forest featuring kānuka, ribbonwood/mānatu, and kōwhai, with occasional views of the surrounding bluffs. The track includes several shallow creek crossings, which may become impassable during or after heavy rain – take care. It passes the privately owned University of Otago Trotters Gorge Hut and ends at a signpost. There is no maintained track beyond this point.
This track starts at the Trotters Gorge Campsite . The gate to the campsite is closed to vehicles during winter because of wet conditions. You can still access the tracks and campsite on foot. Use this location in Google Maps to find your way there.
