New Zealand does not stay on UTC+12 all year
NZST is UTC+12. During daylight saving, NZDT is UTC+13. A London or New York meeting therefore shifts even when the local organiser keeps the same wall-clock time.
Use the named Pacific/Auckland time zone with a date. Writing “9 am NZ time” without the date or offset is an invitation to arrive an hour late.
The clock change creates a missing hour and a repeated hour
When daylight saving starts, local clocks jump forward and some wall times never occur. When it ends, an hour occurs twice. Booking systems need an offset or time-zone identifier to distinguish the repeated time.
For travel, payroll or logs around the transition, store the actual instant as well as the displayed local time.

The Chatham Islands add another 45 minutes
Chatham Standard Time is UTC+12:45 and daylight time is UTC+13:45. It is not simply Auckland time with the same offset.
Generic fixed-offset converters often miss date changes and the Chatham difference. A time-zone database is safer for future dates because governments can amend rules.
