Beautiful grassed campground area near Karamatura Stream surrounded by beautiful bush. The campground provides great access to Karamatura Falls up Karamatura Track.
Camping here is tent-only. Bookings are essential and can be made up to six months in advance. Once your booking is confirmed, you’ll receive a combination code to open the locked access gate. The main park gates are open 6am–9pm during daylight savings, and 6am–7pm at other times. If this campground is full, try the nearby Barn Paddock Campground. Please keep your campsite clean and tidy during your stay and when you leave. There are no bins or rubbish facilities, so all rubbish and recycling must be taken out with you. Dogs, pets, and other animals are not permitted at any time. Fires are also strictly prohibited. A composting toilet is available on site. Getting there: From Titirangi, drive along Huia Road for 16 km, passing through the Huia settlement and the Huia Fire Station. A sign for Karamatura Valley marks the gravel access road on your right. Park here and follow the signs to Karamatura Valley Campground. The 10-minute walk to the campsite includes a river crossing. There is no vehicle access. Use this location on Google Maps to help find your way there.
