Explore the area
Explore the track route and surrounding area before you set out.
From the Dolamore Park car park, cross Waimumu Stream and turn left after the bridge onto a well-formed gravel track. The track climbs gradually through mixed podocarp–hardwood forest toward a ridge. After about 15 minutes, a sign marks the turn-off to a lookout with panoramic views of the Southland Plains, and on a clear day, Bluff Hill and Stewart Island. The return section of the loop descends to meet the boardwalk, which can be followed back to Dolamore Park. Croydon Bush Scenic Reserve is located approximately 10 km to the north west of Gore.
No dogs.
