Essential preparation for Hūnua Falls Lookout Loop
Track description From Hūnua Falls car park, clean your shoes, cross the bridge over the Wairoa River and then follow the track through the forest. The track follows along a shady stream for 200m before turning sharp right at the lookout track sign and gently climbing to the lookout platform. From the lookout, return back along the track and turn right again to loop through more of the forest and down to the base of Hunua Falls. Essential information Swimming at Hūnua Falls is not recommended due to the many safety risks. To prevent the spread of kauri dieback, large sections of the Hūnua Ranges Regional Park are closed. Please stay on the walking tracks, and follow the instructions to clean your shoes before and after your visit. Hūnua Ranges Regional Park has 24 hour pedestrian access. Vehicle access during summer (daylight savings) is 6am to 9pm, and during winter (non-daylight savings) is 6am to 7pm. Getting there The carpark is at the end of Falls Road, Hūnua .
