Piggott’s Campground Camping here is tent-only. A toilet is available on site. Bookings are essential and can be made up to six months in advance. Please keep your campsite clean and tidy during your stay and when you leave. There are no bins or rubbish facilities, so all rubbish and recycling must be taken out with you. Dogs, pets, and other animals are not permitted at any time. Fires are also strictly prohibited. Getting there: Park in the Upper Mangatāwhiri car park. The main park gates are open 6am–9pm during daylight savings, and 6am–7pm at other times. From here, follow Lilburne Road Track, a gravel road that climbs steadily uphill. After 2.3 km, take the left fork onto the track and continue for another 2.2 km to the junction with Rata Ridge and Ernies tracks. The campsite is located near this junction. Use this location on Google Maps to help find your way to the Upper Mangatawhiri Campground where you start the walk to the campsite.
