The Kakamatua Beach Track is a short, easy walk that’s popular with both locals and their dogs. Starting from the car park at the end of Kakamatua Road, the track follows a wide, gentle path through native bush alongside a tranquil stream. As you walk, you’ll enjoy the sound of running water and birdsong before the track opens out to the sheltered inlet and sandy beach. This peaceful spot is where freshwater meets the sea, creating a favourite playground for dogs to swim and explore. It’s an easy, family-friendly outing that’s great at any time of year.
