Begin your adventure with a good leg workout as the MacKenzie Road Track starts at the top of a steep flight of stairs. From there weave your way through regenerating bush up to join with Main Ridge Track. At this point you can choose to continue your adventure to Butterfly Creek, or return via Kōwhai Street Track or Bus Barn .
The trail starts on MacKenzie Road, near the Eastbourne shops. Use this location in Google Maps to find your way there. There are regular bus and ferry services to Eastbourne and the surrounding areas.
