Bluff Hill Motupōhue
A steep track from the summit of Bluff Hill with views north to Invercargill down through wind-shorn shrubland to Lookout Point is rewarded by superb views across Foveaux Strait to Stewart Island/Rakiura.

Explore the track route and surrounding area before you set out.
Starting from the summit of Bluff Hill, the track descends steeply through regenerating forest and coastal shrubland to Lookout Point. Return the way you came, or for a longer 7km loop (taking 2 to 2.5 hours), return along the coastal Foveaux Walkway to Stirling Point and then ascend Topuni Track back to the summit.
From Invercargill, travel South towards Bluff on SH1 for 25 km. Access to Bluff Hill/Motup ō hue is signposted right off SH1, via Leet Street. Use this location in Google Maps to find your way there.
