Track Description This lovely walk in the Bay of Islands starts on the south side of the island and climbs up a hill to the site of a former Māori pā. From here, spectacular views of the Bay of Islands can be seen. It is a short walk, but it is steep, and the final section has stairs. Wear footwear with good grip. The trail is well marked and is suitable for most fitness types. No dogs are allowed. Most cell providers don’t have coverage over the area. Getting There There is no car access to the island. Commercial operators from Russell / Kororāreka and Paihia provide tours to the island. It can also be accessed via private boat or kayak.
