Track Description This short walk is great for kids and can be completed from either direction. From the top of Flagstaff hill, the track meanders through regenerating bush back to the coast. It’s moderately steep and can be muddy after rain, so choose footwear with good grip. The Flagstaff Hill track links up to this one. From the shore you can walk back round to Russell / Kororāreka township by following the shoreline but check the tide times before embarking on this route. Public toilets are located in the Russell / Kororāreka township. Getting There Access is from the top of Flagstaff Hill, or from the shore at Waihihi Bay. Use this location in Google maps to find your way there. Helpful resources Find tips, guides and how-to videos to help you prepare for your walk at mountainsafety.org.nz
