Explore the track route and surrounding area before you set out.
The track has a few steepish bits, but it is easy to follow. There are no steps and no boardwalk. It is entirely within a DOC reserve. Picnic tables at the two viewpoints are a great place to end your excursion.

Ōmāui is a coastal village between Invercargill and Bluff. Turn off SH1 at Greenhills. The track starts at the carpark at the end of the road.
