This 3-hour , intermediate level walk can be travelled in either direction from the Te Marua entrance to Kaitoke Regional Park, or the main campground on Waterworks Road. Leaving a car at both ends of the trail is a good option for those short on time , to make for easy return commuting .
The trail can be accessed from the Te Marua entrance to Kaitoke Regional Park, or the main campground on Waterworks Road. Use this location in Google Maps to find your way there. There are regular bus and train services to Upper Hutt and the surrounding area.
