Explore the area
Explore the track route and surrounding area before you set out.
From Stirling Point, follow the Glory Track as it climbs steeply up to the WWII gun emplacement and meets Gunpit Road (which is an alternative starting point with a few car parks available). From here, Topuni Track continues up an undulating path (steep in parts) through regenerating forest and coastal shrub lands to the summit of Bluff Hill. Return the way you came, or for a longer 7km loop (taking 2 to 2.5 hours), descend down Millennium Track and return along the coastal Foveaux Walkway to Stirling Point. If the steepness of the hill proves too much, then Glory Track is an easier alternative which traverses around the hill from the gun emplacement before descending down to Foveaux Walkway and then it's a simple walk around the coast back to Stirling Point.
From Invercargill, travel South towards Bluff on SH1 for 25 km. Continue through Bluff township to Stirling Point car park. Use this location in Google Maps to find your way there. The Gunpit Road carpark can be accessed from Bluff township by turning right onto Walker Street, then left onto Gunpit Road and following to the end. Use this location in Google Maps to find your way there.
