The camping area is an open grassed area at the old Craw Homestead site on top of a ridge off Anawhata Road.
You may stay in a tent, campervan motorhome or bus shorter than 7m. You do not need a certified self-contained certificate (CSC) for your vehicle to camp here. You may not stay in a caravan or 5-wheeler. A composting toilet is available on site. Bookings are essential and can be made up to six months in advance. The main park gates are open 6am–9pm during daylight savings, and 6am–7pm at other times. Please keep your campsite clean and tidy during your stay and when you leave. There are no bins or rubbish facilities, so all rubbish and recycling must be taken out with you. Dogs, pets, and other animals are not permitted at any time. Fires are strictly prohibited. Getting there: From Piha Road junction with Anawhata Road: Drive approximately 10km along Anawhata Road. Drive with care - the road is metal, narrow and windy, and is not suitable for long vehicles. The signpost to the campground is on the left hand side of the road. You will need a combination code to open the locked access gate - Auckland Council will send you the combination code with your booking confirmation.
