Closures: toilet block and southern end of Motutapu Home Bay Campsite
The Motutapu Home Bay toilet block and southern end of the campsite are roped off/closed due to a heightened risk of shallow landslides or rockfall. The rest of the campground and several norski toilets remain open, but only 25 pitches are currently available to be booked. These pose a lower risk as they are further away from the base of the hill. This is a long-term alert. First published on 6 July 2026.
Partial closure on Motutapu Outdoor Education Camp Access Track
The end of the track going into Motutapu Outdoor Education Camp is closed due to safety risks. It will remain closed on both sides (Administration Bay and Islington Bay) as we work through options to reopen. First published on 25 June 2026. Last reviewed on 1 September 2026.
