This grassed, sloping, tents only campground is next to the Ashby Beach overlooking the Firth of Thames, close by the Tāpapakanga Farm Walk and Coastal Walk.
Tāpapakanga Campground Camping here is tent-only. The campground has several gas barbecues within walking distance, but we recommend bringing your own gas cooking facilities. There are two toilet blocks on site. Bookings are essential and can be made up to six months in advance. The main park gates are open 6am–9pm during daylight savings, and 6am–7pm at other times. Your campsite must be kept clean and tidy during your stay and when you leave. There are no bins or rubbish facilities, so please take all rubbish and recycling with you. Dogs, pets, and other animals are not permitted at any time. Fires are also strictly prohibited. Getting there: From the park entrance, keep left and follow the road. Cross the bridge, then turn right and continue until you reach the locked access gate. You’ll need a combination code to enter, this will be sent to you with your booking confirmation.
