Essential preparation for Winchcombe Biv
Winchcombe Biv is located on the bush line below Winchcombe Peak. It is on the Neill Winchcombe Circuit route, which links Cone Peak with Mt Hector. Winchcombe Biv is owned by the Backcountry Trust and is maintained by volunteers, under a management agreement with the Department of Conservation. Bookings are not required, and there is no fees, but the Backcountry Trust welcomes donations. There are only two bunks, so carry a backup tent if you plan to stay here.
