Track description Either journey to the falls on foot or bik via Karangahake Gorge Historic Walkway or drive to the carpark at the start of Waitawheta Road. These staircase falls are a popular swimming spot with locals, however care must be taken as it is prone to strong currents and hazardous features such as snags and slippery rocks and deep holes. Getting there This scenic spot is easily accessed from the main road, a few metres up Waitawheta Road, opposite the entrance to The Falls Retreat.
