Whakapapa Holiday Park

The Mangatepopo (Ditch) Track is closed as the structures have been damaged by fire and are not safe to use. We are planning to have the track open by 18 December 2026. Do not attempt to use this track until it is reopened. Oturere Hut is currently closed while a new hut is being built. There is no accommodation between Mangatepopo Hut and Waihohonu Hut. This section of the Tongariro Northern Circuit should only be completed by those fit enough to walk 20 km, in one day, over difficult terrain. The new Oturere Hut and campsite are due to reopen on 18 December 2026.
